I think it's going to be Microsoft
Posted: May 28, 2012 12:00AM PST by Epic GreenmanI think there's a good chance that they'll have the weakest library, but the way I see it, they're going to switch places with Nintendo. Nintendo and Sony will be trying to appeal to us, while MS will be concentrating just as much, if not more on features like HBO on their system and have Kinect support be more emphacized in their games. More importantly, they do a much better job advertising than Sony or Nintendo, all the money they spend on product placement and making sure the 360 version's more heavily advertised for multiplatform game.Of course, it all really depends on who comes out with the next big thing first. And we have no clue what that game is yet.
If the rumors of

Then they for sure will dominate and not because of specs but because of ease of use of their products. Just like I hate to admit that Nintendo has won this generations console war. Apple will do the same in having such a huge fan base.
To Me
Posted: May 29, 2012 12:00AM PST by HrqymerI htink it's Microsoft as well. wieh the brand recognition and the $$$ for other than gaming content (HBO, etc.) I feel they have the best shot. On another note, Why only console DLC! you're leaving us PC gamers out in the wind.Didn't occur to me
Posted: May 29, 2012 12:00AM PST by Raised_on_NintendoI'm not a PC gamer. so offering DLC credit for PC didn't cross my mind. If you end up winning, I'll take it into consideration
Cool
Posted: May 29, 2012 12:00AM PST by TripOpt55I'd say Microsoft. They seem to be in the best spot now. They have a good balance between satisfying core gamers and making the 360 a media hub for your living room, so if they can push that over into next-gen that will be good for them. Plus they have money for marketing and a good relationship with third-parties. I'd say their lack of quality first-party developers will be their biggest hurdle, but they seem to be doing good in spite of that right now and somehow manage to make some third-party multiplatform games feel like exclusives. Boosting their first-party development would help though. Sony will probably have the best exclusives since they have such an amazing stable of devs, but that doesn't seem to be helping them all that much right now. Nintendo is going to have the issue I believe of the Wii U being underpowered compared to the PS4 and the next Xbox which will hurt them with third-party support like it did this gen. So yeah, I'd say Microsoft at the moment.
I still think Nintendo can do it. equivalent
Posted: May 30, 2012 12:00AM PST by SamuraiTerryTablet's are big right now and Nintendo just might be able to convince people to buy the Wii U thinking they are getting an iPad equivalent.
Microsoft has big chances! :D
Posted: May 30, 2012 12:00AM PST by JuventudeWell, the Wii U Is really great with the tablet- console conection, but microsoft has the smartphones market too. I think this is going to be microsoft because it doesn't need to make everything for the connection, because they alredy have a lot of things, it's only a matter of time to everything connects (More)
Nintendo All the way

Microsoft
Posted: May 31, 2012 12:00AM PST by Glassjaw_MattI believe that Microsoft will be the most successful of the next console generation for several reasons. Of course, this is all speculation, because we're not quite sure what the next generation has in store for us.1. Integration and focus on Kinect 2.0.While i'm not really a fan of Kinect, their is no denying the success of this little add-on. While PlayStation Move and Kinect both attempted to capitalize on the Familiy Friendly market that the Wii dominated earlier, only the Kinect proved to be successful. While sales of the Wii were out of this world, the Kinect didn't do quite shabby either and Microsoft continues to supply it with games (not the best games, but at least their games). The next xbox is rumored to integrate Kinect from launch and I believe this will help appeal to both the hardcore and the casual crowd, without leaving either group in the cold.2. Graphical Power over the Wii UThis is also speculation and this also goes for both the PS4 and the new Xbox. If the new systems are substantially better than the Wii U then we could see an increase in sales because of sheer power. The Wii U is rumored to be as powerful, if not a little more powerful than the PS3, but if the next generation Xbox has a lot of power, than we could potential see an increase of sales there as well. The gimmick of motion controls have also worn off, so provided that the next Xbox is one powerful beast, consumers might gravitate to the NOW more casual friendly Xbox because of it's graphical abilities, and also what I stated before, it's integration of Kinect 2.0.3. More Than A Game SystemIf the next Xbox continues to add on wonderful services like Netflix, MLB, Hulu Plus, etc. than I could see it beating out the competition as most consumers would see it as a full entertainment package. Adding more content and apps to the overall service would drastically change how we view video game systems, because frankly they're not anymore.4. The RestConsidering a lot of first party titles have gone multiplatform, I wouldn't be suprised if it's the little things that allow the Xbox to excel next generation. We rarely have to worry about not having the "right" system anymore, well, except for the superb Uncharted and Halo series, that all those small details will add up to making the Xbox a standout choice.- Matt Helfrich

Between that, and the explosion in popularity of Apple's iOS leaving all three companies scratching their heads, I predict the next generation of videogame consoles will be the last for sometime.A 1983-style videogame industry crash will occur within eight years; Less if America enters a double-dip recession.
